Our goal is to plant, nurture, protect, and maintain 10,452 cedar trees .
Adopting a cedar tree amounts to $30 per tree, which covers the cost of its entire afforestation process. In addition, a part of your contribution will be going towards the instillation of solar panels in Lebanese public schools.
Building a Greener Lebanon
Help by donating
Cedars have witnessed our history since the beginning of time. They stood tall and proud as countless civilizations, natural disasters, and wars swept our land. Hence, they represent our Lebanese identity in all its aspects, both as a nation and a people, through their resilience and strength.
Lebanon has already lost over 32% of its forest cover due to urbanization, tree cutting and forest fires, and in 2020 alone, Lebanon doubled its yearly average of forest loss. Rotary Club Beirut Cadmos decided to take action by launching ‘Arztak Hawytak’ (translated to English as: Your Cedar, Your Identity) to build a more sustainable Lebanon while reaffirming our core mission: taking pride in our Lebanese roots.
Our goal is to plant, nurture, protect, and maintain 10,452 cedar trees within a new public reserve in Ehden. Our vision is powered by the support of our strategic partners: Banque BEMO, Jouzour Loubnan, United Nations Global Compact Network Lebanon, and the Municipality of Zgharta-Ehden. Through this initiative, we collectively wish to contribute to Lebanon’s biodiversity and environmental sustainability, fight against deforestation, create jobs and opportunities, and enhance Lebanon’s tourism sector.
Adopting a cedar tree amounts to $30 per tree, which covers the cost of its entire afforestation process. In addition, a part of your contribution will be going towards the instillation of solar panels in Lebanese public schools. Once you adopt a tree, you will receive a certificate with its GPS coordinates. You may also choose to have a metal tag with your name placed at the base of your tree and obtain a picture of your tree with the metal tag for an additional $12.
By joining our fundraiser, you will be directly contributing to the success of this ambitious project, the future of upcoming generations, and the prospect of a better, greener Lebanon.
Let’s plant a seed of hope!
